Self-Evaluation tools
Some of the following tools are adapted from Evaluation Support Scotland .
Weaver's triangle is a tool to set the longterm goals and work out the desired outcomes.
The evaluation tool sets out the detail of outcomes, indicators and ways they might be measured.
The cross- referencing tool allows simple recording of significant evidence that outcomes are being achieved. The form should only be used as and when an indicator of an outcome is clearly evidenced.
Comparing early evidence with later evidence for individuals or across the group should indicate progress overall.
An out of school club planning to improve confidence and risk assessment in children by encouraging free outdoor play has been used on the example forms provided to suggest ways that the forms might be used.
This could be a robust but simple method of gathering evidence. The bureaucracy needs to be manageable so that valuable time interacting with children is not lost to time spent form filling.

When people treat you like a person, not as someone who ‘has a disadvantage’, this helps you to feel in control.”
