Transport and after school activities
Posted by Gillian Newman - 12:16 on 10 December 2008
When 8 young people from the 'Are we there yet?' project visited Holyrood and met MSP's, one of the issues raised, which was also raised in the project, there being no transport home from after school activities for some children or young people. Public transport, even if affordable, does not always run at times to suit the after school activities. This means some children are unable to attend.
Anyone else there got an issue or suggestion about this?

its also a great problem in the rural areas. I stay on Skye and apart from the poor public transport availability - the time tables also change summer > winter! this makes after school activities less accessible to those living in remote areas. Its expensive too! Marie Add your comment below
