Election News

MSPs and Councillors will they deliver better services for children in need?

Now that the elections are behind us HCF will be maintaining contact with the new Councillor and Members of the Scottish Parliament to attempt to keep children's issues on their agendas.

It became clear that personal approaches to candidates by parent/carers had real effects on them. Whilst lobbying by HCF satff will have a certain effect what will really count will be parents and carers raising issues with politicians at surgeries or consultation events.

It is important that politicians - both local and national - understand the real impact of their policies. HCF will continue to seek the voice of children and of parent carers but direct action by parents and carers can have a real effect.

What are your Resolutions for Children in Need in Highland?

All candidates in the Holyrood elections have been receiving a card from HCF making them aware of the need to listen to the voice of children in need!

Candidates in both elections are now receiving a list of questions about how they intend to work for the improvement of services for children in need.

If you are approached by candidates seeking your support challenge them on what they intend to do about hearing the voice of children in need and how they intend to work for the improvement of services for children and young people.

Election Candidates respond to HCF's challenge!
